WordPress 5.0 is here, and with it comes Gutenberg, the new content editing platform that will serve as the default replacement for the classic editor.

We’re excited about what Gutenberg has in store, and as users ramp up and start to get a feel for it, we’re re-releasing six StudioPress themes that now include built-in features and advanced Gutenberg support to help you get the most out of the new editing experience. Those six themes are:

While all StudioPress themes are Gutenberg-ready, these six themes have been modified specifically to let you do more with the new editor. Gutenberg allows you to quickly build and create sleek,  high-performing websites, and these six themes include optimizations that have been added with the power and promise of Gutenberg in mind. Our goal is to not only help you start building with Gutenberg, but to harness its full potential so you can win with it. With that goal in mind, these six themes now all include:

  • Easy access and control of branding features. Now you can quickly make changes to block color palettes and font styles.
  • Custom styling and default Gutenberg block styling that all work with the full range of available editor widths to save you time when building sites.
  • Effortless editing and page building so you can see what your site will look like on the front-end when creating and editing in the back-end.

Changing things like image width in Gutenberg is easy with WP Engine’s Gutenberg-optimized themes

This advanced Gutenberg-specific support will allow you to dive into the new editor without having to pause repeatedly to make these modifications. Instead, you can focus your attention on putting Gutenberg to work, exploring the new block-based structure it employs, and building websites and pages that meet the expectations of today’s digital audiences.

Over the coming months, we plan to bring all of our StudioPress themes up to this new advanced level of Gutenberg support and we’ll also be releasing brand-new advanced Gutenberg themes along the way.

With our expanding theme library, including the recent acquisition of Array Themes and its award-winning Atomic Blocks library, the Genesis Framework is quickly becoming the best way to develop sites using Gutenberg. Our suite of premium StudioPress themes make it easy to put Gutenberg to use, and as we roll out additional Gutenberg-optimized themes, we’ll continue to lead by example and show our customers how they can win with Gutenberg.

In addition to all of the above, the Genesis Framework will be further upgraded for Gutenberg with the release of version 2.8 in Q1 2019. 2.8 will include built-in features that allow you to easily and efficiently style and control Gutenberg blocks as well as auto-load demo content, which can arm Genesis themes with content blocks and make them even easier to use with Gutenberg. With more flexibility when installing new themes, you’ll be able to set and more easily control all styling and quickly build new sites that look like your demo sites, enabling you to jump straight into customizing site content without wasting time on initial site configuration.

Stay tuned as we continue to add new ways for you to win with Gutenberg. Want more info in the meantime? Check out these on-demand webinars: Gettin’ Down and Nerdy with the Genesis Framework and Embracing the Change: How to Win with Gutenberg.
